The first jailbreaking tool for the iPhone 3GS has been released. Developer George Hotz has recently released the Purplera1n jailbreak software for iPhone 3GS that seems to work perfectly. The software runs on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, and additionally requires iTunes 8.2 and iPhone 3.0. A Mac version of the software is said to be “coming soon.”
The author warns that the Jailbreak is a beta, so you should backup any important iPhone data before attempting to crack the phone’s security.
