HTC have launched four new widgets for the Hero/Eris Android phones. The first is a battery widget that shows a small battery icon on the home screen. When tapped a widget pops open that shows the current status of the battery including how much charge is left, what the battery temperature is, how it is being charged/discharged as well as the general health of the battery.

The next widget shows information on events from history over the past years such as historic events.
The other applications include a Dice and a Tip Calculator which should be self explanatory. It is unclear at the moment if HTC will launch the widgets on to other Android based phones.
Dice: Tap the dice first, and then simply shake (do not throw!) your phone to “throw” the dice. This widget is only for HTC Hero & Droid Eris
Today in History: In this widget, learn about significant events and famous people who were born or who died on this day in history. Tap a link to view the corresponding article on Wikipedia.
Tip Calculator: You can adjust the tip percentage and the number of people in the group before calculating.
Battery: Tap the widget to see more battery information.
Also it is unknown if HTC will continue to make more widgets or if these first four are just to gauge interest in widgets in general.
